Frequently Asked Questions

  • I love all things outdoors! From open fields and lakes to urban scenes, I have several places I like to go that give a good variety.

  • May through October provide the best months and weather here in Montana! Think May-July for green fields and wildflowers; August-September for neutral colors and pretty dried grasses (I promise!); October for foliage, cozy sweaters and earlier sunsets! November could make for a white winter wonderland! Keep in mind yearbook photos are due in early December.

  • Most importantly, I want you to feel confident and like yourself! I suggest avoiding clothing with logos or a lot of patterns. Accessories are always fun…hats, letter jackets, your football or your ballet shoes! We will go over your outfit choices before our session.

  • I will be watching the weather the days before our shoot. Together we can decide if we need to reschedule.

  • Yes! Let them make you laugh, fix your hair, or play your favorite music!

  • For the best light we will start about an hour before sunset. Depending on the time of year this could be anywhere from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM! I will email you with the specific time a week prior to your session.

  • I suggest coordinating color palettes, avoiding busy patterns. Layers at any time of year create nice textures and variety. Don’t forget the accessories, such as scarves or hats! Most importantly, wear what feels most like your family!
